Meet the Leadership Team

Abigail Wild, MFA
Owner / Creative Director
When Abigail graduated with her MFA in creative writing, she had hopes and dreams of teaching, publishing, and forming communities of authors. She started by bringing authors together to produce literary anthologies and diligently worked her way toward creating Wild Ink Publishing. With thirty years of design experience, graduate diploma in hand, and editorial experience, she was ready to go for it.
Abigail not only works with editors, artists, and authors through Wild Ink, but she also teaches in an MFA program, is the director of the Young Writers Workshop at a small liberal arts college, and works with an anti-trafficking organization in central Pennsylvania creating graphics, writing, and speaking publicly.
She has also authored a few books along the way.

Brittany McMunn, MFA
Managing Executive / Editor-in-Chief
Brittany brings years of leadership and project management experience to Wild Ink. But, her expertise doesn’t stop there. She is an editor with a deep passion for helping writers achieve their dreams. As a graduate student receiving her MFA in Creative Writing, Brittany saw the need novice writers had for someone to assist them in refining their works. This need is what drove Brittany to create an online writing community for MFA students aspiring for publication, as well as branching out into freelance editing through her LLC, The Paraphraser. Brittany has an undergraduate degree in communication and has earned her Master of Fine Arts in creative writing, as well as being a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English honor society.
Brittany is our lead anthologist, providing ways for authors to gain new publishing credits.

Laura Wackwitz, Ph.D.
Lead Editor
Laura began her editing career shortly after she learned to read—at age two. By age three, she played on the moors with Dickon Sowerby, found the key to the garden with Mistress Mary, and thought Colin a lost cause—until he wasn’t. At four, preschool teachers called her “Scout” and, as with the real Scout, they complained that she read too much, too well, too soon. They didn’t take too kindly to Laura’s efforts to improve the words and world around her. A coach’s daughter, she was grounded in one-on-one coaching techniques from the age of ten. Since then, she’s coached writers from multiple continents, elevated stories of hidden voices, thrived as a university professor, and edited manuscripts by the thousands.
While from Colorado, she holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, has edited/authored three academic books and numerous journal articles, serves on American Copy Editor’s Society (ACES) and Editorial Freelancers Association committees, writes flash fiction, and leads her own micro-press.
As Lead Editor for Wild Ink, Laura works with authors in multiple capacities to help maximize connections between their stories, characters, and readers: book doctor, story consultant, full-spectrum editor, cheerleading coach. The secret to her success? Combining her love of possibilities and developmental editing with her commitment to preserving and elevating author voices. In short, she helps authors tell stories that are uniquely their own.
